I LOVE JACOB MILLER and I don't care who knows it!!! What a charming looking fellow he is in this pic. Quite classy I must say, lol. Whenever I think about Jacob Miller I get sad. The intense potential that Jacob Miller had, I just can't ignore it. His voice is beyond incredible and I am quite saddened by his death.
I looked around the public torrent scene and couldn't find a solidly seeded Discography of him. I made my own; just give me a sec to upload it. :) (has taken me freaking forever to make this collection, please enjoy thoroughly!)

Here is a sweet ass track by Inner Circle sang by Jacob Miller, I don't think it's a part of the Discography yet, perhaps I'll add it if I have time.

Jacob Miller (May 4, 1952 – March 23, 1980) was a Jamaican reggae artist.
Jacob was featured in the film Rockers, alongside many other musicians including Gregory Isaacs, Big Youth and Burning Spear. In the movie, he plays the singer of a hotel houseband, in reality Inner Circle, who are joined on drums by the films hero, Horsemouth (Leroy Wallace) and play a wicked live version of Tenement Yard.
Miller had close links with Bob Marley, who was known to promote him as 'My favourite singer'. One of Jacob Millers biggest Jamaican hits 'Tired Fe Lick Weed' betrayed his political leanings as can be seen in his performance of the song in the film 'Heartland Reggae', where his open enjoyment of a 'ganja spliff' on stage was intended to be seen as a militant statement.
Millers most potent works are often attributed to the 'rockers' singles of the mid 1970's with the band Inner Circle, with tracks like 'Tenement yard', 'Tired fe Lick Weed' and 'Stand Firm' among them. However the track which has brought him the most lasting recognition is the rockers standard 'King Tubby Meets The Rockers Uptown' with Augustus Pablo. Other notable tracks with Augustus Pablo include 'Keep on Knocking, 'False Rasta' and 'Who Say Jah No Dread', all produced by King Tubby.
Jacob Miller had a unique vocal style, using staccato motifs in counter play with the rhythm section, a perfect example of which is 'Tired Fe Lick Weed'. Miller was an intelligent and original artist, and recognised his own potential to lead, releasing a re-cut of his own track 'Tenement Yard' with the title 'To Much Imitator', a straight out attack on those trying to copy his style. Enlarge
With an obvious energy, Jacob Miller was a magnetic presence on stage, and his appearance at the 'One Love Peace Concert' in Jamaica,April 1978 was typical 'Killer' Miller. Mesmerising and full of life, Jacob Miller invited members of the Jamaican political coalition, the 'Peace Committee' on to the stage for a rendition of 'Peace Treaty Special', conducting crowd, band, press and guests all with his customary zeal.
Some of Millers later work has been seen by reggae purists to be too much of an attempt at finding a commercial avenue for his music, with his yearning for success becoming evident on the track, 'I've Learned My Lesson Well', from the Island Records album 'Everything Is Great' from 1979. Enlarge
This album, from musical point of view, is almost totaly unconnected to his earlier 'roots' work, and exhibits the ability of the Inner Circle band to adapt to different genres, using strong disco themes here. It is with some irony then, that Jacob Millers lasting contribution to the reggae genre will be forever focused on those 'rockers' tracks, which are, at least culturally, perhaps more important than reaching 'The top 100'.
Miller who died very young in a car accident, cutting abruptly short a promising career that had already taken young Jacob from 'yard' (Jamaica) to an international record deal with Island Records.
Miller had planned to perform along with Bob Marley and Inner Circle in Brasil and then to tour with them; this tour was cancelled after Miller's untimely death.
I don't care what anybody says, this album kicks ass!!
Althea Forest and Donna Reid make up the cult reggae vocal duo Althea and Donna, who enjoyed a massive hit with their original composition "Uptown Top Ranking" (which has subsequently been re-recorded by numerous other reggae recording artists), hitting the top of the British charts back in 1978. Although most of their albums remain out of print and extremely hard to find, 2001 saw the reissue of the Uptown Top Ranking full-length on the Caroline label. The song received an added boost in the '90s when British trip-hoppers Portishead covered it in the late-'90s. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide

The Aquabats (often written as The Aquabats!) are an American rock band formed in 1994 in Orange County, California. They have released four full-length studio albums and have toured internationally. They are best known for their mythology, in which they claim to be superheroes on a quest to save the world from evil through music. As a part of this mythology the band members have adopted superhero pseudonyms and dress in matching costumes. Their eclectic live show often includes onstage "battles" with costumed foes, and the band has built up an elaborate and ever-changing backstory of their origins and adventures, along with a roster of allies and enemies. The group's lineup has fluctuated significantly throughout their career, with founding members The MC Bat Commander and Crash McLarson as regular fixtures. Jimmy the Robot has also remained a longtime member, having joined the band in 1997. The Aquabats' early work was heavily rooted in the third wave of ska music, with touches of surf and punk rock. Over the years their music shifted towards more synthesizer-based rock with a new wave influence. Their current style blends elements of rock and roll, pop-punk, ska, and synthpop.
FLAC reduces bandwidth and storage requirements without sacrificing the integrity of the audio source. A digital audio recording (such as a CD track) encoded to FLAC can be decompressed into an identical copy of the audio data. Audio sources encoded to FLAC are typically reduced to 50–60% of their original size.[2] During compression, FLAC does not lose quality from the audio stream, a notable characteristic of lossy compression formats such as MP3, AAC, and Vorbis.
FLAC is suitable for everyday audio playback and archival, with support for tagging, cover art and fast seeking. FLAC's free and open source royalty-free nature makes it well-supported by many software applications. FLAC playback support in portable audio devices and dedicated audio systems is limited at this time compared to lossy formats like MP3, THIS IS WHY CONVERTING/TRANSCODING FLAC TO MP3 MIGHT BE IDEAL!
Originally known as The Donuts, The Expos are a Canadian reggae band, making music from their hometown of Newmarket, Ontario. Their debut album, "Old Friends," was re-released 2006 (Originally released in 2005) under the new record label, Stomp, and the new moniker, "The Expos."

Holy shit I can't believe I forgot to post this! My extreme apologies everyone; yes you read the title of this post correctly, The Planet Smashers made a "Stomp" in Toronto last night for The Stomp 15th Anniversary Party at the Opera House and let me tell you, it was nothing short of a skankin good time.
The Expos, Flatfoot 56, and The Brains brought a lot to the table as opening bands- nothing against The Brains, from what I can tell they are extremely intelligent musicians, just not my style. I totally dug the bass player standing on top of his stand up bass- that was intense! Aha. Flatfoot was also pretty intense; I love the tiny ankles of the Mandalin player in comparison to the rest of him- hillarious.
Looking forward to seeing ya'll at the next show! Apparently The Aquabats are coming to the area mid March. I'll be sure to post it!
"At a time when labels seem to be dropping like flies, any milestone is worth celebrating, let alone a 15th anniversary. Yes, it's been 15 years since venerable Montreal ska label Stomp Records released All Skanadian Club Vol. 1 compilation as Stomp 001 back in 1994. "It was always supposed to be a hobby and here we are today," says Stomp president Matt Collyer. "We stumbled into [it]. It wasn't supposed to happen. We picked the name at the last second. There wasn't even a logo on the first pressing." Stomp has since helped launch the careers of countless Canadian ska and punk acts, including Collyer's own Planet Smashers, who co-headline the label's "15 Year Anniversary Rage'r" this weekend in Toronto and Montreal. Collyer has witnessed a lot of ups and downs over Stomp's decade-and-a-half run. The label was at the vanguard of the mid-'90s ska revival, and managed to weather the eventual backlash. "It was really heavy in the states, the backlash against ska bands," he recalls. "The [Planet] Smashers, we didn't go down for almost three years. From the end of '99 to the end of 2002, we didn't play a show in America. It was a wasteland, and we didn't want to be associated with the death of it." The label's fortunes were helped by a strategic — and musically appropriate — merger brokered in 2000 between Stomp and Montreal punk label 2112, creating the Union Label Group. "[We] realized that if we want to stick around we're going to have to branch out and do different types of music," he says. The Stomp logo and catalogue numbers still continue to grace the label's ska and reggae releases, and Stomp has also branched out and signed several psychobilly and garage rock bands. "It's really changed a lot over the last few years." As for The Planet Smashers, Collyer assures fans that we haven't seen the last of the band. "We're kicking around new titles and we're talking about going and recording," he says. "We're excited about doing something again, but we're never going to be the hardcore touring band that we were. It was fun when we did it, but we're not going go out and do something that we don't really enjoy just to pay the bills. But we'll play shows. We're going to continue doing that cause it's fun.""

Max Romeo (born Maxwell Livingston Smith, 22 November 1947, St. D'Acre, St. James, Jamaica[1]) is a reggae and roots reggae recording artist who has achieved chart success in his home country, and in the UK. Romeo was responsible for launching an entirely new sub-genre of reggae, whose overtly suggestive lyrics caused an outcry but took a massive hold of the music scene regardless. Yet innuendo was the least of the singer's stylings, previous to the release of his infamous "Wet Dream," Romeo had garnered a string of sweet hits with the vocal trio the Emotions. And once the nocturnal naughtiness faded, the singer established himself as one of the most important figures in the roots scene.

Her words are original and unique, and her voice is powerful, and man, what an incredible sound!
Also not my style, but man, what an incredible horn section. Those Sax players can totally rip it!
UB40 is a British reggae band formed in 1978 in Birmingham, UK. The band has placed more than 50 singles in the UK Singles Chart, and has also achieved considerable international success. The band has sold over 70 million records.[1] Their #1 hit singles include "Red Red Wine", "Can't Help Falling in Love" and "I Got You Babe".
The band members began as friends who knew each other from various colleges and schools across Birmingham. The name "UB40" was selected in reference to the document issued to people claiming unemployment benefit from the UK government's Department of Health and Social Security (DHSS) at the time of the band's formation. The designation UB40 stood for Unemployment Benefit, Form 40.

Life Of Contradiction [1978] [Album]
A mere footnote in mainstream musical history, Joe Higgs’ name is inextricably linked to that of Bob Marley. It was Higgs who taught the teenaged Wailers to sing and harmonise at his Trench Town home and was the first in a series of surrogate father figures who helped create and refine the Bob we know today.
But Joe was also a respected singer and composer in his own right. He’d been present at key moments in the development of ska (as part of the duo Higgs and Wilson), rocksteady (with Lyn Tait) and reggae (touring and recording with Jimmy Cliff) before releasing Life Of Contradiction in 1975.
Recorded three years earlier but held back due to the all-too-familiar rights issues, Contradiction saw him teamed with the formidable and versatile Now Generation band. The result was a highly conceptual, deeply personal record by one of reggae’s true masters that deserves to cross over into popular music’s wider canon.
Of the three Wailers, Higgs’ deep, rich voice sounds closest to that of Peter Tosh, but is a more mournful, weary instrument, the sound of one who has suffered great hardships with a shrug and a smile. From the battle-worn but hopeful Come On Home, to the poignant There’s A Reward, through to the clattering hand-drums and sad solo trombone of bonus instru-dub Freedom Journey, each song draws on universal themes of love, redemption and pain, while each note played by the band shadows Joe’s every ambiguous mood.
The level of songwriting and the breadth of influences on display will impress the casual or non- reggae fan. Glimpses of Dylan and the Band, Simon and Garfunkel, Cat Stevens and Otis Redding bubble to the surface in this melting pot of jazz, country, roots, rock and soul.
Unjustly ignored on first release, Life Of Contradiction is a work of astonishing depths and bruised, aching humanity. Give this album some time and you’ll get your just reward.
